Located 90 kms north of Nagpur, at the end of Satpura mountain range, Pench was listed as a tiger reserve in 1992. The setting for Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, the park is home to approx 39 mammal species, 13 reptile species, 3 amphibian species and more than 200 bird species including migratory birds.
Pench is an emerging destination for Big Cats sighting and the previous census count of 120+ tigers has already become outdated with a rapidly growing tiger population.
🧭 Nagpur city is just 90 kms away with good air, rail and road connectivity.
Pench has safari zones along its south, east and north sides. However, the zones on its east side in Maharashtra & Madhya Pradesh are most popular due to high tiger sightings and good tourism infrastructure.
🧭 Safari zones in Maharashtra : Khursapar / Sillari / Chorbahuli / Mogarkasa
🧭 Safari zones in Madhya Pradesh : Turia / Teliya / Khawasa / Rukhad / Masurnala
